Glycolube 140
Glycolube 140
Glycolubeâ„¢ 140Â is used primarily as an anti-static agent for polypropylene compounds. It functions equally well in extrude films and sheets or injection molding compounds. Recommended loadings range from 0.1 to 1.0 phr, depending upon the application. Polypropylene compounds containing 1.0 phr of Glycolube 140 easily exceed NFPA 99 standard for static decay rates. Glycolube 140 is fully approved for indirect food contact use in polyolefin compounds.
This product is also a highly efficient internal lubricant for PVC. Its high mono ester content results in excellent compatibility, providing efficient reduction of melt viscosity in all rigid PVC systems. In clear applications, Glycolube 140 is recommended for use at 0.75 – 1.5 phr loadings in combination with 0.5 – 1.0 phr of Glycolube PG. The superb compatibility of Glycolube 140 results in excellent clarity and early color hold. In opaque applications, such as injection molding, Glycolube 140 reduces viscosity, resulting in easier processing while contributing to good thermal stability and color hold. It is not recommended for external applications, as it may have a deleterious effect on weatherability.
