Satintone 5HB
Satintone 5HB
Satintone® 5HB kaolin is an ultra-fine particle-size grade featuring very high brightness. It has been dehydroxylated by controlled heat treatment for the removal of crystalline-bound hydroxyl groups and to improve brightness. Satintone 5HB kaolin is highly pulverized for better dispersion.
This product is widely used as an extender in flat and satin paints as it provides a high degree of opacity and tint strength. Its high brightness results in whiter paints and bases that provide cleaner colors. Satintone 5HB kaolin provides excellent optical properties for TiO2 extension in both rubber and plastic compounds. The fine particle size and low residue provide excellent dispersion and physical properties.
Typical applications include water-borne and solvent-borne flat and eggshell/satin interior paints, OEM electrodeposition coatings, polyester gel coats, flexo and screen printing inks, reinforcement for polymers like polyamide, TPE/TPO, and TiO2 extension in many polymeric systems.
