Fields of application

ACRONAL® DS 3390 na is a high solids copolymer dispersion intended for the manufacture of construction adhesives. Compositionally, it is quite similar to ACRONAL® V 275 na, but with higher Tg and film strength. Due to good adhesion on pretreated polyolefins, PVC surfaces and foil, ACRONAL® DS 3390 na is also particularly suited to the manufacture of technical laminates.

Processing

When the product is to be mixed with other dispersions, compatibility with ACRONAL® DS 3390 na should be determined by prior experiment. Improved wetting characteristics can be obtained by adding approximately 0.5% of a wetting agent (e.g., Lumiten® I-RA).

To improve the heat resistance of laminate bonds made with adhesives based on ACRONAL® DS 3390 na, specially developed water-emulsifiable, polyfunctional isocyanates can be added to the adhesive formulation. But note that the shelf life of the resulting mixture depends on the reactivity of the isocyanate and must be determined by experiment.
