ASP® 072 kaolin is made by a process to provide a very fine particle-size, platy-grade aluminum silicate, featuring premium brightness. It is available as either spray-dried beads or in slurry form. Spray drying helps to control airborne nuisance dust. ASP 072 kaolin is chemically inert and has been specially modified with dispersants for ease of dispersion.

This product provides high gloss without loss of opacity in gloss and semi-gloss water-borne coatings. ASP 072 provides excellent optical properties for TiO₂ extension in rubber and plastic compounds. The fine particle size and low residue help provide excellent dispersion and compounded physical properties. Neutral pH has minimal effect on the cure rate when compounded into cross-linked polymeric systems

Typical applications include water-borne gloss and semi-gloss coatings, mechanical rubber goods, printing rollers, tire white sidewalls, TPE/TPO.
