ASP® 101 kaolin is a stearate-treated, fine particle size, hydrous aluminum silicate designed to provide hydrophobicity. It is available as a fine, pulverized powder and is easily dispersed in solvent systems. It is used in solvent-borne paints and coatings requiring water resistance, ease of dispersion, and low moisture absorption.

This product is widely used in lithographic ink applications and also in coatings applications requiring hydrophobicity. ASP 101 finds use in a variety of polymeric systems where ease of dispersion, hydrophobicity, and resistance to abrasion are needed. ASP 101 kaolin is also used as an anti-blocking agent in polyethylene film applications.

Typical applications include solvent-borne offset inks, film-antiblock, industrial coatings, mechanical rubber goods.
