Castament Dispersants for Refractories
Castament Dispersants for Refractories
Castament® is a series of polymeric dispersants based on polyethylene glycol. Castament efficiently disperses the cement and aggregate fines and improves the plastic and hardened physical properties of refractory castable and gunning mixes.
Dispersants Available
- Castament FS 10
- Free-flowing, spray-dried powder of a polymerization product based on polyethylene glycol. This polymeric dispersant is for improved refractory use. It is recommended for microsilica-free refractory materials containing CAC (calcium aluminate cement).
- Castament FS 20
- Free-flowing, spray dried powder of a polymerization product based on polyethylene glycol. This polymeric dispersant is for improved refractory use. It is recommended for microsilica and CAC or ULCC castables. It is not recommended for MCC.
- Castament VP 22
- Synthetic polyelectrolyte formulated on an alumina carrier. It acts as a dispersant for improved refractory use and is recommended for microsilica and CACÂ containing LCC or ULCC castables. It may also be used as a wetting agent for improved dry shotcreting or shotcasting applications.
- Castament FS 60
- Free-flowing, spray fried powder of a polymerization product based on polyethylene glycol. This polymeric dispersant is for improved refractory use. It is recommended for Tabular Al2O3 and CAC with high Al2O3 content. It gives improved early strength and can be used in low alumina CAC, microsilica-containing vibrational castable mixes.
- Castament FS 65
- Free-flowing, spray dried powder of a polymerization product based on polyethylene glycol. This polymeric dispersant is for improved refractory use and is recommended for SiC-C mixes, spinellforming mixes using fine MgO grades. It gives improved wetting, good water reduction and early strength. Castament FS 65 can be used in low alumina cement castables with small amounts of microsilica.
