Cemplete 8515 HP is a vinyl acetate-butyl acrylate redispersible powder with a medium-range glass transition temperature, imparting hydrophobicity, flexibility, and alkali resistance to cementitious compounds. The material is manufactured by spray-drying a copolymer dispersion under carefully defined conditions. Anti-caking agents are incorporated to make sure that powder properties are maintained during storage and processing.
The flexibility of Cemplete 8515HP can be used in cementitious compounds where deformability is required. This is especially valuable where substrate movement is possible. It improves substrate adhesion, freeze-thaw resistance, and decreases water adsorption significantly.
This product, when used in mortars grouts and renders, imparts an improvement in the workability of the formulated product, good anchoring properties onto old substrates such as concrete, better abrasion and scrub resistance, along with increased flexural strength. Cemplete 8515HP is especially suitable in exterior applications such as grouts, repair mortars, external insulating finishing systems (EIFS), and mineral-based plasters.
