Glycolube 740
Glycolube 740
Glycolube® 740 is a highly efficient internal lubricant/co-stabilizer for clear PVC compounds. It can be used in both tin and metal soap-stabilized systems intended for use in film and sheet extrusion, calendered sheet, and blow molded bottles.
This product offers substantial improvements in long term thermal stability oner conventional lubricants while retaining good clarity, low yellowness, and acceptable blush characteristics. In Ca/Zn – stabilized bottle compounds, 1.0 phr of Glycolube 740 can result in up to 50% increase in stability time relative to compounds containing 2.0 phr of conventional glyceryl esters. Thus, use of Glycolube 740 allows the formulator to rebalance a Ca/Zn system to obtain excellent early color hold without the loss of long term stability.
Due to its high efficiency, Glycolube 740 can also be used at lower loadings than conventional internal lubricants. Use levels of 0.5 – 1.5 phr are recommended for most applications. The use of higher levels may harm compound clarity and blush properties.
Glycolube 740 may also be used as an anti-fog agent in plasticized PVC film formulations. Loadings of 0.5 – 1.5 phr are recommended.
