HYDROPALAT® WE 3477 is a highly dynamic wetting agent for aqueous coatings, printing inks, over print varnishes and related systems. Due to its excellent wetting properties it is particularly suitable for difficult-to-wet substrates such as plastics and metal surfaces, cellulose film, aluminum and plastic foils, silicone treated papers or glass.
HYDROPALAT WE 3477 can be used to optimize the compatibility (colour acceptance) of aqueous pigment concentrates in different coatings. It can be incorporated either into the pigment concentrate or directly into the base paint. It can also be used as “post additive”.
The exact dosage should be determined by appropriate tests. HYDROPALAT WE 3477 may be incorporated at any stage of the manufacturing process. To ensure optimal incorporation it is advisable to add it after grinding by stirring vigorously.
Diluting this product with water is possible only up to a certain extent. Liquid-crystalline gel phases may occur in the region of approximately 50% active substance. Water solubility may be increased by the addition of a small amount of a solubilizer allowing to increase active contents to up to 80%.
