Melflux® DF 93 is the aqueous emulsion of a defoamer based on polyether. Due to the unique structure of the polymer, it is dedicated for the production of cement and calcium sulfate-based construction materials with low air content. It is used in combination with high-performance superplasticizers of the latest generation based on modified polycarboxylic ether. This product is especially optimized for defoaming of polycarboxylic ether-based superplasticizers and plasticizers.
Application
Due to its physical/specific properties, emulsions tend to separate and may lose its efficiency. Therefore, the product is to be visibly check for homogeneity throughout the container prior to use. In case of any visible separation, the product must not be applied. In general, thorough mixing of the product before use is mandatory.
Formulations based on Melflux DF 93
For recommendations on the production of a formulation based on Melflux DF 93 and a high performance superplasticizer based on a modified polycarboxylic ether:
- The superplasticizer is charged first and heated to 35°C
- Melflux DF 93 emulsion must be stirred thoroughly for one hour
- During the next 30 minutes the proper quantity of the emulsion is added in small portions while stirring intensively
- Further stirring of the final formulation for 1 more hour
The lower the solid content of the formulated product is kept, the more it will be stable against separation.
