RHEOVIS® HS 1152 is an outstanding rheology-control thickener for water based coatings to increase viscosity in the low-shear range and develops a pseudoplastic (shear-thinning) viscosity.

The polymer provides the rheology–control effect through extensive swelling of the high-molecular-weight polymer in combination with a hydrophobic component in alkali, in the presence of water.

This leads to outstanding sag-resistance for interior and exterior coatings where cellulosic ethers can (partially) be displaced by RHEOVIS® HS 1152. In combination with HEUR thickeners like our RHEOVIS® thickener, an excellent balance of sag resistance and leveling will be achieved which is ideally suitable for airless spray applications.

RHEOVIS® HS 1152 is most effective between pH 8 to 10.
