ACRONAL 4 D is used for the manufacture of pressure-sensitive adhesives for adhesive tapes and films. When plasticized PVC film is used as the base film, it should be borne in mind that plasticizer migration can affect the adhesive properties.

When ACRONAL 4 D is mixed with other dispersions, attention must be paid to the pH. This should not be higher than 8 because otherwise dispersion mixtures containing ACRONAL 4 D can coagulate. The mechanical stability can be improved by adding small amounts of Collacral VAL. The addition of about 0.5% of a wetting agent (e.g. Lumiten IDS 3525) often helps to remedy wetting problems.

We recommend adding a preservative to adhesives and coating materials that contain ACRONAL 4 D to protect them from microbial attack, particularly if their pH lies in the neutral range. The suitability of such additives must be verified and monitored in trials.
