RHEOVIS® PU 1280 is an outstanding rheology-control thickener for water based coatings to increase viscosity in the mid-shear range and develops a pseudoplastic (shear-thinning) viscosity.

It was especially designed to improve the application and sagging properties of latex systems (emulsion paints). RHEOVIS® PU 1280 allows the manufacture of paints with optimal rheological properties offering, e.g.:

• increases KU-viscosity
• reduces sagging
• good leveling

The rheology behavior of formulations thickened with RHEOVIS® PU 1280 is independent of the pH. Under shear stress, the reduction of viscosity is distinctly lower than with cellulosic or alkali-swellable acrylics.
