ASP 400P
ASP 400P
ASP® 400P kaolin is the coarsest particle-size grade of aluminum silicate from BASF. It is highly pulverized, lower in brightness, has a higher aspect ratio than other ASP hydrous kaolins, and is chemically inert.
ASP 400P kaolin is widely used in industrial and architectural primers as it improves enamel holdout. Its low oil absorption allows for higher loading in paints. It is also designed for use in stains. This product is especially designed for glass-reinforced thermoset systems where low resin demand, low shrinkage, controlled exotherm, craze resistance, and good glass carrying properties are required.
Typical applications include water-borne and solvent-borne exterior flats and primers, BMC/SMC, and pultrusion profiles.
