Mattex
Mattex
Mattex® calcined kaolins are specially designed to combine high opacity and whiteness with high tint strength and low sheen.
Typical applications include: water-borne interior and exterior flat paints, solvent-borne interior and exterior flat paints.
Mattex
Mattex engineered kaolin is a fine particle-size grade featuring high brightness. It has been dehydroxylated by controlled heat treatment for removal of crystalline-bound hydroxyl groups and to improve brightness. It is highly pulverized for better dispersion. Its key feature is that it’s structure calcined material which allows optimization of low sheen and high opacity.
This product is recommended for use in interior/exterior architectural coatings where low sheen is required. Mattex gives excellent touch-up properties along with high scrub resistance. It requires little or no flatting agents to achieve low sheen in flat paints. Typical applications include: water-borne interior and exterior flat paints, solvent-borne interior and exterior flat paints.
Mattex MX
Mattex MX kaolin is a new product in the Mattex family of structured extender pigments. It is a chemically structured kaolin based pigment that combines high opacity and whiteness with high tint strength, low sheen and excellent film integrity in coatings.
This product has very good touch-up properties. This easily dispersed extender pigment pigment for both water and solvent-borne systems, is specially designed for flat finishes. However, Mattex MX can also be used in eggshell and other finishes, both trade sales and light maintenance coatings. Typical applications include: water-borne interior and exterior flat paints, solvent-borne interior and exterior flat paints.
