ERISYS GE-22
ERISYS GE-22, epoxidized cyclohexanedimethanol, is a low viscosity, cycloaliphatic diepoxide. It is intended for use as a reactive diluent for high viscosity epoxy resins. ERISYS® GE-22 is compatible at all concentrations with those resins and resin/diluent blends can be cured using any epoxy resin curing agent.
As a result of its chemical structure, this product is not as efficient in viscosity reduction as the aliphatic monofunctional reactive diluents ERISYS GE-5, GE-6, GE-7, and GE-8. However, the performance properties of epoxy formulations diluted with this product are modified to a lesser degree than those systems containing the aliphatic monofunctional diluents. Depending on the concentration, properties such as gel time, strength, and modulus of an ERISYS GE-22 diluted formulation remain relatively unchanged compared to an undiluted mix. The difunctionality of this product helps to produce formulations with improved chemical and heat resistance compared to formulations containing monofunctional diluents. The cycloaliphatic nature of ERISYS GE-22 suggests its use in formulations requiring outdoor weathering resistance. Formulations containing this product exhibit outstanding creep resistance making them ideal for high-performance grouts and structural applications. ERISYS GE-22 improves a formulation’s wettability. This diluent does not affect the pot life of pre-catalyzed epoxy resin/acid anhydride formulations.
ERISYS GE Series glycidyl ether monomers and modifiers are low molecular weight epoxy-functional products based on alcohols, glycols, and phenols. The product line covers a broad range of TSCA-approved monomers from mono-epoxy functional to multi-epoxy functional materials.
