Styronal ND 811 is a mechanically and chemically stable modifier in laminating adhesive formulations. It provides stiffness and toughness. Styronal ND 811 may also be used as a glossing additive for both paper and paperboard coatings.

The polymer dispersion should not be subjected to excessive shear, and care should be taken to avoid air being entrained. The pH value of pigment slurries should be in the neutral-to-alkaline range before Styronal ND 811 is added. Rotary displacement pumps are recommended for coating colors prepared with Styronal ND 811.
